Australian Defence Force: Procuring & Sustaining Special Purpose Aircraft Fleet

Our client delivers sustainment services to a range of military aircraft fleets for the Australian Defence Force and was the incumbent Through Life Support (TLS) contractor for the existing SPA fleets. 

The Challenge

The Australian Government wished to procure a new fleet of medium-sized business and executive jets. They decided on a ‘Managing Contractor’ model where the contractor would analyse options in the market and provide recommendations (for Government approval) on which business and executive jets would be best in terms of meeting specifications and total lifecycle cost.

The Solution

The Salentis team, comprising of:

• 1x Proposal Manager/Writer
• 2x Senior Writers
• 1x Design Lead/Desktop Publisher

Worked with our client to develop an excellent proposal. The Government ultimately cancelled the procurement and awarded a significant extension for TLS services to our client. 

The Impact

The Government elected to procure the aircraft directly instead of from our clients; however, the aircraft they selected were those recommended by our client.
