The Challenge

Our client was awarded the original Defense Freight Transportation Services (DFTS) I contract in 2017. One of the largest logistics contracts under the federal government, DFTS encompasses all forms of surface transportation throughout the continental U.S., Alaska, and Canada, including less than truckload (LTL), full truckload (FTL), expedited, time definite, and rail services as well as cross-docking and warehousing.
After several years of positive performance, it was extremely important to retain their business on this contract with this USTRANSCOM customer. Being a very strategic must-win, they wanted to boost their internal proposal capability with Salentis experts.

“Thanks for your support along the way!! Truly a great team effort!!”

– Director, Business Development

The Solution

Nine Salentis resources supported the successful development of the proposal in which the client elected to use their own bidding process. From Salentis, four Senior Technical Writers helped compose proposal sections working with our Design Lead and Layout Designer, who managed the full production process for submission. We also supported our client by providing a Pricing Advisor who helped build their pricing workbook and support BOE development. A Salentis Bid Strategist and Red Team Reviewers were also among the support team.

  • Supported client team in developing a tailored proposal solution and delivery
  • Performed in accordance with client governance processes
  • Performed guidance of every stage of proposal development including pricing and final production
  • Provided reduced chaos environment during writing, graphics development, and color team reviews and final production

The Impact

The Phase 0, proposal development effort, color reviews, and final production for this effort ran smoothly resulting in an on-time submission of a compliant, compelling proposal that made our client the obvious choice for the evaluator. Extending its trusted relationship with the U.S. Government, our client received the award by USTRANSCOM of this $ 2.3 billion, 7-year contract to continue serving the military’s transportation and logistics needs under the Defense Freight Transportation Services program.

“Thank you so very much for your support – we couldn’t have done it without you!”
