The Challenge

Our client was bidding as an incumbent with the USAF to retain their more than 65-year relationship sustaining and modernizing the nation’s ICBM systems. While very well-positioned with their customer, our client was short on resources, particularly technical writers, graphic artists, and desktop publishers.

Our team is using the latest in digital engineering and innovation to keep today’s system reliable, safe and secure while positioning the Air Force for a smooth transition to the Ground-Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) system over the next couple decades. [Company] brings proven performance, a highly skilled team of experts, and a continued commitment to ensuring Minuteman III weapon system operational readiness for the US Air Force.

The Solution

Nine Salentis resources supported the successful development of this proposal in which the client elected to use their own bidding process. In conjunction with the client’s Proposal Manager and Capture Manager, six Salentis Technical Writers helped compose proposal sections working with two of our Graphic Designers. With the Salentis Desktop Publisher, our team managed the production process for submission.

  • Supported client team in developing a tailored proposal solution and delivery
  • Performed in accordance with client governance processes
  • Performed oversight and guidance of every stage including final production
  • Provided reduced chaos environment during writing, graphics development, color team and final production

The Impact

The proposal development, color reviews, and final production for this effort ran smoothly resulting in the on-time submission of a compliant, compelling proposal that made our client the obvious choice for the evaluator.

In September 2020, the USAF awarded our client a US$13.3B nuclear missile contract to modernize the ICBM system, marking the next phase of the GBSD program. It is a 5-year contract with options up to 18 years.

Great job, everyone! I feel that this is one of the best proposals we have ever submitted! You guys should be proud of a great job all the way around! Thank you all for your hard work and dedication in putting out this really awesome proposal!
